Aviation Management
The objective of the Undergraduate Program in Aviation Management is to train qualified professionals capable of working in the functional departments of aviation enterprises—such as marketing, accounting, finance, flight operations, quality, and safety management—across all areas of aviation activity, including airlines, airports, ground services, cargo, and catering. It also aims to enhance the knowledge and efficiency of personnel currently employed in these departments.
The significance of air transport began to be recognised particularly after the Second World War. Today, air transport is one of the fastest-growing industries. The effectiveness of air transport operations in achieving their intended benefits depends on the aviation system functioning safely, securely, efficiently, and effectively. Although aviation is a rapidly developing economic sector, it also requires the intensive use of advanced technologies.
Given the industry’s detailed regulatory framework and its fundamental principle of “safety first,” it is crucial that aviation personnel receive high-quality training. This programme delivers courses designed to equip students with the competencies outlined above through distance education, offering learning opportunities in aviation to individuals from diverse backgrounds and interests.
(*) Candidates who will enroll in the Aviation Management Undergraduate Program are required to submit, along with other registration documents, the following to the Open Education Faculty liaison office:
- A document showing that they do not have any Criminal Record or Criminal Archive Record that would prevent them from obtaining an airport entry card, and
- A health board report issued by a fully equipped hospital stating that they do not have any health condition (such as hearing or vision impairment/deficiency, etc.) that would prevent them from performing the duties of this profession and/or the positions within it.
