Announcement on Course Exemption for Students Enrolling in the 2025–2026 Academic Year via Entrance Exam, Diploma Equivalency, or Second University
Students who enroll in the Open Education Faculty for the 2025–2026 academic year can apply for exemption from the following courses through the Student Information System (aosogrenci.anadolu.edu.tr) via http://aof.anadolu.edu.tr during the registration period:
Principles of Atatürk and the History of Turkish Revolution I–II
Turkish Language I–II
Foreign Language I–II
Exemption applications for these courses must be submitted online during the registration period via the Student Information System (aosogrenci.anadolu.edu.tr).
Applications submitted after the announced registration dates will not be accepted. For students whose graduation information is available on the e-Government system, exemptions for compulsory YÖK courses will be processed automatically. These courses will appear as “exempt” in the system (OBS). Students who do not wish to be exempt may remove the exemption marking themselves. Students without YÖKSİS graduation data on the e-Government system can apply for exemption as described below.
- After completing registration, students whose graduation data are not visible on e-Government must apply for exemption manually through the Student Information System (aosogrenci.anadolu.edu.tr).
- Students whose graduation data are available on e-Government must upload the required Graduation/Completion Certificate for exemption.
- Students who have completed their education abroad and whose graduation data are not available on e-Government must upload an Approved Turkish Transcript when applying for exemption.
Students enrolled in Anadolu University’s Open Education Faculty may apply for exemption for these courses through the Student Information System (aosogrenci.anadolu.edu.tr) during the registration period. Applications can only be made once during this period. Requests submitted after the announced dates will not be processed.
The application dates are listed in the Academic Calendar at global.anadolu.edu.tr. Students who register through Entrance Exam, Diploma Equivalency, or Second University methods may apply for exemption until the last day of registration (students with different registration types may also be eligible if they meet the same conditions).
Important Information for Students Uploading Documents
Documents that are incomplete, unreadable, unsigned, missing QR codes/barcodes, or not in Turkish will not be accepted.
-
In such cases, the application will be rejected, and no appeal will be possible.
-
Documents must clearly show course names and passing grades.
-
Incomplete or unclear documents will not be evaluated for exemption.
Uploaded documents will be reviewed, and exemption requests for compulsory YÖK courses will be processed accordingly.
Once approved, the exempted courses will appear as “MU” (Exempt) on the transcript.
Students whose graduation data are available in YÖKSİS or who are graduates of recognized programs can access the Exemption Application Panel and upload the necessary documents (graduation certificate, transcript, etc.) themselves.
Students who meet the following criteria are eligible for exemption:
-
Graduates who have previously completed the courses Principles of Atatürk and the History of Turkish Revolution I–II, Turkish Language I–II, or Foreign Language I–II in a higher education institution.
-
Students who have completed a bachelor’s or associate degree and successfully passed the equivalent courses (with a minimum grade of CC or MU/EX).
Students who are currently registered in or have previously registered at Anadolu University’s Open Education, Economics, or Business Faculties may also apply for exemption under these same terms.
Important Notice: Students who register for the 2025–2026 academic year but do not submit an exemption application through the Student Information System (aosogrenci.anadolu.edu.tr) (except for those whose graduation data are recorded in YÖKSİS via e-Government) will not be able to submit an objection during the objection period. Therefore, students who wish to apply for exemption must complete their application in the Student Information System (aosogrenci.anadolu.edu.tr) during the exemption period without leaving it incomplete. Course and document requests that are not submitted or are rejected cannot be reconsidered. Information regarding objections will be announced on global.anadolu.edu.tr.
Explanations
Exemption applications for the courses Principles of Atatürk and the History of Turkish Revolution I–II, Turkish Language I–II, and Foreign Language I–II (English, German, or French) are submitted through the Student Information System (aosogrenci.anadolu.edu.tr).
All students applying for exemption (except those whose graduation information is already recorded in YÖKSİS via e-Government) must complete all exemption procedures through the Student Information System (aosogrenci.anadolu.edu.tr). Applications that are incomplete or not finalized within the exemption process will not be accepted.
Students who are not enrolled in a higher education program via e-Government and/or only hold a high school diploma cannot apply for exemption. However, graduates of higher education programs who have previously completed the relevant courses listed above may apply for exemption.
Students who apply for exemption can request exemption for all courses listed in the Exemption Application Panel of the Student Information System (aosogrenci.anadolu.edu.tr).
Students applying for exemption must mark the courses they wish to be exempted from in the Exemption Application Panel. Courses that are not marked or not successfully completed cannot be requested for exemption. Also, exemptions that have already been granted cannot be canceled.
After completing their exemption application in the Student Information System (aosogrenci.anadolu.edu.tr), students must upload the required document(s) within the announced registration dates. Students are responsible for uploading all necessary documents and ensuring the completeness of their applications.
Students who wish to apply for exemption for multiple documents (for example, transcripts, diplomas, or degree certificates) must combine all pages into a single PDF file, with a maximum size of 1 MB.
Applications sent via mail, courier, or other channels (AOSDESTEK, e-mail, etc.) outside of the Student Information System (aosogrenci.anadolu.edu.tr) will not be accepted.
Students must ensure all uploaded documents comply with the following requirements:
-
Graduation and grade documents obtained via e-Government are valid.
-
Digitally signed or QR-coded documents are valid.
-
Manually signed documents are valid.
-
Documents confirming successful completion of equivalent courses in a previous program are accepted only if they are in Turkish or officially translated into Turkish.
-
Graduation documents issued by universities must clearly show the course name and completion information.
-
For undergraduate graduates: Turkish-approved transcripts or diplomas are required.
-
Only successfully completed courses shown on the transcript are eligible for exemption.
-
Generic or unclear documents will not be accepted.
-
Foreign-language documents must include an officially approved Turkish translation.
-
Documents prepared before the YÖK recognition of the program must be supported with evidence of institutional approval.
-
Applications from graduates of non-recognized institutions or programs will not be considered.
-
Students whose exemption is approved will see the relevant courses marked as “MU” (Exempt) on their transcript.
11- Exemption applications made with a Grade Status Document will be evaluated according to the following explanations:
- The Grade Status Document must be obtained from the institution/university where the courses were taken.
- Courses that have already been taken are not valid for exemption.
- In the exemption evaluation, only the courses selected in the exemption application will be taken into account.
- The overall GPA in the transcript will not be taken into consideration in exemption procedures.
- If there is a foreign language other than Turkish on the transcript, the information on the documents uploaded for exemption will be considered.
12- For exemption, the GPA is not affected, and the rule applied to a course taken for the first time in our Faculty is used.
13- Exemption results will be announced within 45 (forty-five) business days after the completion of all exemption applications at global.anadolu.edu.tr under the “Announcements” section.
14- For the 2025–2026 academic year and beyond, after the announcement of the exemption results, a notice regarding the exemption objection process will be published on the website. During the registration period, exemption objections or exemption requests for courses/documents that were not accepted in the Exemption Application Panel of the Student Information System cannot be made. In such cases, students must object through the Student Information System (aosogrenci.anadolu.edu.tr) within the specified time by uploading the relevant document/course to which they are objecting.
In exemption applications:
- Students whose documents are rejected may re-upload the updated document within the objection period.
- Students who have certain courses rejected for exemption may object to the rejected courses within the objection period.
- Students who complete their exemption applications but wish to add new courses later cannot update their applications during the exemption period. Their requests will not be accepted.
- Students can apply for exemption for one or more courses by marking the course(s) in the Exemption Application Panel.
- Students who have completed their exemption or transfer applications and submitted them cannot cancel previously selected courses for exemption. Therefore, students must ensure the accuracy of their exemption applications before submitting them.
15- Documents without a seal, signature, or validation mark will not be accepted.
16- Incomplete or incorrect documents will not be accepted.
17- In some universities’ transcripts, a course and its language (for example, “Turkish”) may be stated. If the transcript includes an expression such as “Turkish I” or “Turkish II”, the language of instruction must be clearly indicated. However, if such an expression exists in the transcript and there is no separate document confirming the language of instruction, the relevant courses may not be accepted for exemption. Therefore, students must upload supporting documents that indicate the language of instruction along with the transcript (as a single PDF file).
18- Anadolu University is not responsible for any errors in the documents uploaded by students. Once uploaded, the documents cannot be edited or changed during exemption procedures.
Detailed explanations about exemption procedures can be found in the Transfer and Exemption Principles of the Faculty of Open Education, Economics, and Business Administration. Applications outside these principles will not be accepted.
