Announcement for Students Registering Through Entrance Exam, Diploma Equivalency, or Second University Enrollment Regarding Course Exemption for the 2025–2026 Academic Year
2025–2026 Academic Year | Mandatory Course Exemption Applications
For students enrolled in the Open Education Faculty in the 2025–2026 academic year, exemption applications can be made for the following mandatory courses:
-
Principles of Atatürk and the History of Turkish Revolution I–II
-
Turkish Language I–II
-
Foreign Language I–II
To apply for exemption, students must complete the application between the registration dates through the Student Information System (aosogrenci.anadolu.edu.tr).
Process According to e-Government Information
For students whose graduation information is available through e-Government, mandatory course exemptions will be processed automatically by the system. The courses will be marked as exempt in the Student Information System (OBS). Students who do not wish to be exempt may contact the relevant unit.
-
For students without YÖKSİS (Higher Education Information System) graduation data in e-Government, the exemption process proceeds as follows:
a) If the graduation information is not visible in e-Government after registration, the student applies for exemption manually through the Student Information System.
b) Students without graduation information in e-Government must upload a Graduation/Certificate of Completion Document.
c) Students who completed their education abroad may apply with an Approved Turkish Equivalency Document.
Application Deadline: According to the Academic Calendar published on globalcampus.anadolu.edu.tr, exemption applications for those registering through Entrance Exam, Diploma Equivalency, or Second University must be submitted by the end of the registration period.
Important Notes for Students Uploading Documents
Documents that are unreadable, unsigned, missing QR codes/barcodes, or not in Turkish will not be accepted. Objections regarding rejected documents will not be considered.
-
Uploaded documents must clearly show course names and completion information; incomplete submissions will not be processed.
-
For students without graduation information in YÖKSİS, documents (graduation certificate, transcript, or diploma) must be uploaded to the Exemption Application Panel.
-
Students must have successfully completed equivalent courses (Atatürk’s Principles and the History of Turkish Revolution I–II, Turkish Language I–II, Foreign Language I–II) in their previous program (associate’s, bachelor’s, or open education).
-
Exemption requests from faculties of theology, fine arts, or conservatories will not be accepted for these courses.
Explanations
Exemption applications for Principles of Atatürk and the History of Turkish Revolution I–II, Turkish Language I–II, and Foreign Language I–II (English/German/French) are submitted through the OBS (Student Information System).
-
All students (except those whose graduation information is recorded in YÖKSİS) must complete all exemption steps in OBS. Incomplete or partial applications will not be accepted.
-
Students who have not graduated from a YÖK-recognized program or who are not graduates of a YÖK-accredited institution cannot apply for exemption. However, graduates of YÖK-recognized institutions may apply if they have successfully completed equivalent courses.
-
Applications cannot be made for courses already approved, marked, or unsuccessful in the OBS Exemption Application Panel. Approved course applications cannot be canceled.
-
All required documents must be uploaded to the system within the registration period. The student is responsible for completing all steps correctly.
-
Multiple documents (multi-page PDFs) must be uploaded as a single PDF file, with a maximum file size of 1 MB.
-
Applications sent via mail or cargo (e.g., PTT, private courier, etc.) will not be accepted.
-
The following document types are accepted:
a) Graduation and Grade Documents obtained via e-Government.
b) Digitally signed or barcoded documents.
c) Manually signed documents.
d) Documents prepared by the university showing course content must be in Turkish.
e) The relevant course name and the Temporary Graduation Certificate must both be visible.
f) For undergraduate graduates: A Turkish translation of the diploma approved by a certified translator or an officially approved Turkish transcript is required.
g) Only successfully completed courses shown in the transcript will be considered for exemption. The transcript itself does not replace a certificate of exemption.
h) “As indicated above” or similar generic statements will not be accepted.
i) Documents in a foreign language must include an approved Turkish translation.
j) Students with pre-2008 diplomas must upload them directly to the system.
-
Transcript-based applications will be evaluated as follows:
a) The transcript must clearly show the name of the course and the university it was taken at.
b) Courses without a grade will not be accepted.
c) The course must have been passed.
d) The course grade must be at least “CC” or its equivalent.
e) Evaluations will be made based on the transcript and the information it contains.
-
Exempted courses will not affect GPA calculations.
-
Once the evaluation is complete, results will be announced on globalcampus.anadolu.edu.tr under the “Announcements” section.
-
Objections can only be made during the official objection period and based on the following:
a) Students whose exemption requests were rejected may object.
b) Students who received partial exemptions may also object.
c) Objections must be submitted within the specified period; late objections will not be accepted.
d) Students whose objection is approved will have their exemption updated; rejected objections will remain as is.
e) Exemption requests made after the registration period will not be processed.
f) Applications submitted after the objection period will not be evaluated.
Handwritten or unsigned documents will not be accepted.
-
For students with annual system diplomas, if the document includes a statement like “Turkish Language I-II,” exemption will be granted. If the document lacks such details, additional proof must be provided.
-
Transcripts showing courses like “Turkish Language” without term breakdowns will be accepted only if they confirm annual completion and include official confirmation that the course covered I–II terms. Documents must be uploaded as a single PDF file.
Uploaded information will be reviewed by the faculty. Depending on the outcome, the exemption may be approved, modified, or canceled.
Students who are not graduates of a higher education institution cannot apply for exemption. Detailed procedures and explanations can be viewed on the relevant page.
