A Major Step Forward by Anadolu University in the TRNC: New Examination Centres and the Launch of In-Person Education
The educational activities conducted by Anadolu University’s Open Education Faculty in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus since 1986 have entered a significant phase of expansion ahead of the 2025–2026 academic year. Following consultations with the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), new decisions have enabled TRNC citizens to enrol in Open Education programmes through degree equivalency or an entrance examination./span>

To promote this new opportunity, the Overseas Programmes team of the Open Education Faculty carried out extensive information and outreach activities across various regions of the TRNC. Throughout the promotional campaign, detailed information was provided regarding the new enrolment options available to TRNC citizens, including the second university option without an entrance exam, as well as enrolment opportunities for secondary-school graduates, university students and graduates..

The University is also introducing another major innovation for Open Education students in the 2025–2026 academic year. Free in-person training will be offered at Anadolu University’s Lefkoşa Campus in the fields of Command Engineering, Artificial Intelligence Literacy and Professional–Personal Development. These training sessions will continue throughout the autumn and spring semesters, equipping students with the contemporary skills required in today’s world.
With its nearly forty years of experience in the TRNC, Anadolu University continues to strengthen its accessible, flexible and student-centred education vision in the region through its new examination centres, robust digital infrastructure and on-campus in-person training opportunities.
