Turkish Language and Literature
The Undergraduate Program in Turkish Language and Literature has two main objectives.
1. To provide students with general and field-specific core competencies:
These include the ability to acquire and apply knowledge; interpret, evaluate, analyse, and synthesise information; work independently; demonstrate individual and social responsibility; plan and manage tasks; think critically; identify, recall, and communicate knowledge to others; make decisions and put them into practice; maintain productivity; respect social and scientific ethical values; use information systems, technology, computers, and related software and hardware; develop environmental awareness and respect for the environment; use at least one foreign language; think rationally; and communicate effectively.
2. Educational objectives:
The programme aims to train individuals who can conduct research in the field of Turkish Language and Literature; embrace lifelong learning; explain and analyse literary concepts, movements, theories, and texts; lead in the accurate, aesthetic, and effective use of Turkish; contribute to the development of reading culture; cultivate and enhance artistic taste and sensitivity; improve fundamental language skills; develop competence in critical and creative thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving; and demonstrate strong communication skills.
